Subhadassi is a poet and artist. He was born in Huddersfield in 1967. After graduating from Nottingham University with a degree in Chemistry, he studied literature and philosophy. He has worked as a freelance artist for over a decade during which time he has received a number of awards, and undertaken a wide variety of residencies and commissions.

The title poem of his first full-length poetry collection ‘peeled’ received a Special Commendation in 2004/5 Forward Prize for Poetry. Alongside his own arts practice and his work as an artist in formal and informal educational settings, he also works as a creative consultant, mentor and facilitator in educational and business contexts. He currently lives in London.
