This one day course is aimed at anyone who has a good idea for a youth arts project, but needs help in developing their budget and successfully securing funding for their project. Based upon years of experience of setting up and running successful youth arts projects in a variety of settings, Get Sorted 2 will take you through a step by step guide for planning and drafting your own budget, advise on the best way to fill in funding applications and suggest where you can go to find the funds you need.

E-Safety and Youth Arts

Pilot Course – Special Rate Fee £75 per person
This one-day course is essential training for anyone using or looking to use the internet, computers and other media technologies when working with young people in the arts. It will provide participants with an understanding and relevant resources to ensure that the young people they are working with can make informed decisions within digital environments.
This course raises awareness of digital footprint and examines e-safety, current legislation and the risks involved when working with new technology, including media production and social networking on the web. The course will inform participants how to incorporate e-safety into their Child Protection Policy and embed the knowledge into their organisation or project. Participants will learn about Acceptable Use Policies and will examine mobile media devices and managing personal media devices. This course will raise participant’s awareness of appropriate local, regional and national issues relating to e-safety, and will increase their confidence in their abilities to escalate and report an incident as necessary and appropriate

The Garage is an exciting creative industries training and performance venue situated in the heart of Norwich. It is the place to come if you want to take up courses in performing arts, technical skills or creative arts. The venue opened in Spring 2004 and has quickly become an integral part of the Norwich cultural community. A number of established arts training organisations are based in the Garage, whilst others offer regular classes in the various studios.
The Garage is the base for the creative industries programme which is run by The Academy Trust (Norfolk) Ltd. This programme delivers a range of courses across Dance, Drama, Moving Image, Technical Skills, Music, Circus and Puppetry as it is rolled out. Most importantly, the Garage is a community venue which aims to be accessible to everyone, irrespective of where you live, what you do, or what you want to do. To make sure that happens, a range of partnerships have been put in place.
