Connectingwithculture.com has been designed for schools and professionals working with children and young people, allowing them to quickly and easily connect with the great arts and cultural organisations we have across the South East.
We have spoken to teachers across the region to try and understand what barriers they face when it comes to planning arts and cultural activities for their pupils. Frequently cited problems included a lack of time to find new opportunities, awareness of what kinds of activities existed in their area, and confidence as to the quality of the activities on offer.
Connecting with Culture firstly works as a search engine, allowing teachers to search and filter a large list of arts and cultural organisations to meet their specific requirements. Each organisation has their own profile page, displaying a a description of their education offer, location, and information what ages and settings they cater for, along with a contact form that allows users to quickly get in touch with organisations straight from the site.
Teachers and professionals working with children and young people who use the site will have the opportunity to leave reviews on specific arts and cultural experiences – helping to create a community filled with the word-of-mouth recommendations that teachers have told us they value.
