Artswork’s Business Plan 2010 to 2012 outlines the following as its mission, its values and its aims:

Artswork’s mission is to place the arts and cultural practice at the heart of work with, for and by children and young people - particularly those deemed to be at risk – and to champion, lead and facilitate high quality work led by artists and arts and cultural organisations including the development of young arts and creative practitioners and leaders.  We will build the capacity, skills, knowledge and understanding of the arts, cultural, voluntary, community, youth and education sectors, facilitating them to work increasingly effectively with each other and with young people.

Artswork aspires to be an organisation which:

  • Places arts, culture and creativity at the heart of its work
  • Has access, inclusion and diversity as its central ethos.
  • Actively seeks to work in and through partnerships and collaborations
  • Recognises and values the needs and aspirations of the individual
  • Has respect for its staff, partners and young people and values and promotes respect and excellent communication in the inter-relationship within and between these groups
  • Operates Artswork’s business practices professionally, effectively and sustainably within a social ethos.
