Rachel Preston

Artsplan Development Manager

Rachel joined Artswork in May 2008 to work 5 days a week as a Project Coordinator alongside Caroline Ash, the hub4 National Coordinator and has more recently been appointed as Artsplan Development Manager.

Rachel is responsible for co ordinating a full programme of training courses throughout the year which is run nationally in every one of the nine Arts Council regions. She co ordinates approximately 40 freelance specialist youth arts trainers and supports the development of a whole host of Artsplan Training Centres.

Rachel qualified with a BA in Arts & Event Management in 2008 during which she had the opportunity to project manage and deliver three cultural public events; including a large family arts festival called Mayfly Arts Festival which attracted an audience of 10,000; a contemporary arts exhibition in Jazzy’s Café on Poole Quay called Re-flect and a youth creative project called Ecoscene which engaged 125 young people from the Bournemouth and Poole area in a week of arts workshops that culminated in a performance showcase as The Opera House in Boscombe.

Rachel has previously worked at Walford Mill Crafts as its Multicultural Officer as well as Assistant Site Manager for The Inside Out Festival.
