Emma has worked in the community arts sector for over seven years, coordinating a large range of arts and media projects with some of the hardest to reach communities in the north of England.
As Project Coordinator for the ‘Tell Us Another One’ project at Cartwheel Arts Emma encourages marginalised communities to express themselves through creative writing and spoken word.
She sits on the English National Youth Arts Network (ENYAN) Regional Advisory Panel for Yorkshire and brings over a decade of working with young people to the role.
Previous roles include Education Officer for Screen Yorkshire - training and supporting applicants and recipients of Mediabox and lottery funding. Prior to this Emma was Youth Arts Coordinator for Kala Sangam (meaning Arts Meeting point).
Emma also sits on the board for Red Ladder Theatre Company, who specialise in targeted work for young audiences and is acknowledged as one of Britain's leading national touring companies producing high quality new plays for diverse audiences.
Emma still occasionally assesses funding bids to First Light Movies and volunteers at a local youth centre every Friday night (to keep down with the kids!)
