Artswork is a national youth arts development agency and a registered charity
We are committed to transforming the lives of children and young people through arts and cultural practice. Artswork is supported by Arts Council England.
Artswork’s mission is to place the arts at the heart of work with, for and by children and young people and to champion, lead and facilitate high quality work led by artists, arts and cultural organisations including the development of young arts practitioners/leaders.
We work through strategic alliances with the arts, cultural, education, youth and community sectors and aim to act as national champion to increase opportunities for children and young people to lead, participate, work in, experience and enjoy the arts.
We deliver our work in the following ways:
• Through our role as the Bridge Delivery Organisation for the South East region. Artswork is supported by Arts Council England to deliver this major strategic role (NB from April 2012 to March 2015)
• Through strategic projects and programmes
• Through advocacy and networks including the English National Youth Arts Network (ENYAN)
• Through the development of leadership and skills (Training programmes)
Our history
With an outstanding 24-year track record, Artswork has built credibility, trust and collaborations and enhanced the range and standard of the arts with and by children and young people; we have increased opportunities for leadership and employment in the arts with, for and by young people and developed expertise as a strategic youth arts development agency.
Our unique approach is demonstrated through the range and strength of our partnerships and our pioneering work to make a difference to the lives of young people through participation and engagement in and through the arts.
What's ENYAN?MoreLess
ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network) is a networking and principal advocacy body for all those using the arts in their work with young people in informal educational settings, with a priority to support work with young people at risk.
For network members, ENYAN creates connections, shares best practice, provides access to high quality resources and information to enhance the quality of youth artsprovision and young people's experiences of the arts across England and the UK. The collective voice of members enables the network to advocate the lobby for sustained investment in youth arts.
